Chris Brady and Andrew Gutman Named to MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 25

The Chicagoland natives stood out in front of a Club-record crowd of 63,094 at Soldier Field

CHICAGO (Sept. 10, 2026) – Chicago Fire FC Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady and defender Andrew Gutman were named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 25 following their performance in Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw against Inter Miami CF in front of a Club-record crowd of 63,094 at Soldier Field.

The Chicago Fire Academy graduates earned the weekly honors in a matchup of Eastern Conference contenders. Gutman made his mark early in the match, peeling away from a Miami defender in the 10th minute before whipping in a pinpoint cross to the far side of the box, where forward Robert Lewandowski arrived to volley the opener home. Brady took over the rest of the way, making six stunning saves to hear his name chanted by the sellout crowd multiple times throughout the night.

Both Chicagoland area natives have been named to the Team of the Matchday multiple times this season. For Brady, it is fifth time on the list this season, his first since another six-save performance in a 2-0 shutout of CF Montréal on Matchday 14. Gutman, in turn, earns his third mention of 2026 and first since recording an assist in the 2-1 victory against the Portland Timbers on Matchday 20.
